MY SWINGING DOOR IS DIFFICULT TO OPEN, NOW WHAT?
It is important to know why your swinging door is hard to open.
If it due to a poor fit, loose hinges, loose jamb, or any structural problem, our opener will not fix the problem.
Your door must function properly when used manually before you can consider installing an Original Gentleman, Easy Gentleman, or Commercial Gentleman.
It is also possible your door is difficult to open due to magnetic weatherstrip on a metal door or from stack pressure in the building, see below.

MAGNETIC WEATHERSTRIP
Many homes have magnetic weatherstrip to help seal the air gap around their metal doors. The weatherstrip creates a bond which takes additional pressure to release.
We can break this bond with our small Assist Cylinder and allow the opener to swing the door open.

STACK PRESSURE
Stack pressure is a pressure applied to the inside of a building whether it is a result of the building's height or the HVAC system pressurizing rooms with forced air.
The stack pressure acts on the "push" side of the door and becomes a load holding the door closed. This greatly increases the force our swing openers need to apply to the door. The solution is to install our Assist Cylinder to open the door an inch to neutralize this pressure so the main opener can take over and swing the door open.
